Radio Shows

"Louisiana Rhythms" The show is on every Friday, from 9:00 til 11:00 am on KFAI-FM. Mick Novak, Maurine McCort, Eric Mohring and Karl Smelker alternate as hosts. We feature music from Louisiana, especially southwest Louisiana. That means lots of Cajun, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop, old and new. We might also sneak in some second line from New Orleans or some blues from Baton Rouge, or who knows what.

You can email us with comments, suggestions, requests, possible livestock trades....

KFAI-FM is a community radio station and can be found at 90.3 and 106.7 FM in the Twin Cities area. And now available 24 hours a day on the Internet! You can also listen to the previous two shows by going to the KFAI Audio Archives

    Good News

We may not have a lot of live Cajun/Zydeco radio to listen to, but the internet can bring those far away stations to your computer. Not quite as nice as listening to the car radio as you cruise through the country in your convertable but .........

Some radio staions are starting to do real time broadcasting on the internet. One of my favorites is KBON 101.1 FM out of Eunice, LA. Paul Marx is the morning DJ and is great! A wonderful Louisiana mix of Cajun, Country, Zydeco, Rock, Swamp Pop and whatever else they want. Also check out the Swamp and Roll show with Todd Ortego and Dr. Feelgood. Thursdays, 6-9 pm. Even the commercials are great.

Also out there is KLRZ.  The morning show is also good. Based out of Golden Meadow Laouisiana.

Another favorite is WWOZ in New Orleans. WWOZ is a community radio station and sister station of KFAI. The listening is particularly good during jazz Fest. Their home page is at: http://www.wwoz.org

Public station KVRS-FM from Lafayette has some good C/Z programming but you need to search it out.

A new station playing all Swamp Pop, all the time is KMRC 1430, in Morgan City, LA

Clarence Moritz has a site with a listing of radio stations around the country, both on-air  and on the Net http://www.cajunradio.org

Jeremy Rice has a listing of Online Audio and Video sources.

Herman Fuselier's Bayou Boogie Herman does a great show with Cajun and Zydeco selections as well as local news
