It is often listed under "World" or "Blues" music general headings.

Some radio staions are starting to do real time broadcasting on the internet.
One of my favorites is WWOZ in New Orleans.
WWOZ is a community radio station and sister station of
KFAI.
The listening is particularly good during jazz Fest. Their home page is
at: http://www.wwoz.org. Public
station
KVRS-FM from Lafayette has some
good C/Z programming but you need to search it out.Also broadcasting is
KBON
101.1 FM out of Eunice, LA.
