The Cedar presents concerts and dances by local and national acts. Past shows have included D.L. Menard, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Geno Delafose and local bands the Bone Tones, Jumbo Ya Ya, J.J.'s Zydeco Paydirt, Zolo Go, The New Riverside Ramblers, and the Swamp Sextet. The Cedar also presents a wide range of other world music.

A large wooden dance floor provides room for up to 350 dancers. Seating is found around the dance floor on folding chairs. The Cedar is a no smoking venue and provides a wide selection of juices, bottled water, beer, and soft drinks in a seperate area. Also for sale are snacks and sometimes complete meals. Good sound system. An all ages venue.

Dances usually start at 8:00 if there are lessons or 8:30 if there are no lessons. Usually an $6-$8 ticket charge
